Following the ABS’ release of Regional Population data, the following updates have been made:
All AreaSearch SA2 population metrics as at FY-21
All MicroSearch population metrics updated
MetricSearch Heatmaps undergoing critical upgrades
These local estimates are now more up to date than those of the upcoming Census.
Some findings from the update:
~ Victoria’s Mickleham – Yuroke and Rockbank - Mount Cottrell SA2s have recorded some of the strongest population growth to the end of the financial year, both increasing by circa 30%.
~ The Dickson (ACT), Reid (ACT) and Rockbank - Mount Cottrell (VIC) SA2s currently have the highest levels of residential supply per population.
Interesting, but expected, correlations were observed between an area’s dependence on overseas migration to bolster population growth and performance. However given recent changes to immigration and job requirements we expect this to reverse sharply in the coming year.
