Section 1 — National Overview
2
National Analysis & Charts
A written analysis summarising the latest quarter’s supply trends, plus a Net Approvals chart showing quarterly new places by state. Scroll through the analysis carousel for deeper insights. Below that, a National Quality Standard rating bar shows the distribution across all rated services.
Section 2 — Find & Assess a Centre
3
Search by Area or Centre
Toggle between Areas and Centres mode. Areas searches suburbs and postcodes; Centres searches schools and childcare centres by name.
Each result card has action buttons: Custom opens the catchment drawing tool, Catchment loads an official school zone (schools only), Map jumps to the SA4 region map below, and G-Map opens Google Maps.
Section 3 — Regional Data
4
Capital City & SA4 Tables
The top table lists all capital cities (or regional areas) with columns for centres, places, demand ratios, fees and more. Click any row to drill into that region’s SA4 breakdown. Columns are sortable — click headers to rank regions.
A CSV button on each table lets you download the data.
5
SA3 Drill-Down
Within each SA4, click the + expander to reveal SA3-level data. Free users see SA3 names and centre counts; detailed columns (places, demand, fees, etc.) are available with a Pro plan.
6
Regional Charts & Analysis
Each region includes a written summary, NQS quality ratings, and tabbed charts: Net Additions, Kids Per Place, KPP 2km Schools, Avg Fees, Birth/1K, Sch. KPP, Births, and Unemployment. Use the tabs to switch between indicators. An FAQs accordion answers common questions for each region.
Section 4 — Interactive Map
7
SA4 Map & SA2 Stats
The interactive map loads when you click an SA4 row (or use the Map button in search results). Coloured regions represent SA2 suburbs — click any one to see a statistics panel showing daily fee, income, births, school population, distance between centres, and unemployment. Use the SA2 dropdown to jump to a specific suburb.
Childcare centres appear as markers and schools as markers. Click any marker for a popup with details and action links.

Tip: The fastest path to a full needs assessment — search for a centre, click Custom to draw a catchment, run the analysis, and generate a PDF report. The How it works link above the search bar walks you through it step by step.
